Be Kind to One Another...Just Let it Go.

Judging others has become a way of life. We judge people by the work that they do, how much work they do, how much money they make, what kind of vehicle they drive, what their house looks like, how they treat friends, family, strangers, how they talk, what they eat, what they drink, how much they eat and how much they drink, what colour their skin is, what colour their pants are, how short or tall they are... and the list goes on and on. I personally don't see the problem with judging, at least if we knew what we were judging them against. The bigger problem with judging is that we have learned to then place unrealistic expectations on these judgement.

Our society has become accustomed to being judged. We have accepted it as a way of life. We judge by our perception of our friends, our neighbors, strangers, by the people that we see on TV or the ones that sing on the radio.  We judge how we 'believe' we should be. We judge how we 'feel' we could be.

These judgements have created a toll on our minds and our health. We have created illusions of how we should look. act. and feel. We put so much pressure on how we want others to act, to feel, to think.

We have crossed the line of a healthy competition.

The greatest gift that we can give to a friend, is an acceptance of their own thoughts and ideas. People are in our lives because their is something that we are either supposed to learn from them or something that they need to teach us. One really needs to open up to the acceptance of this.

If we paid more attention to our own thoughts and explored what we were truly feeling and why, this may lead us to a better understanding of not only ourselves, but of others.

The pressure of those around us to act a certain way, is our perception of how that person should act. They have an entirely different perception of that reality. And this is good! They act and feel what they have learned and what they are willing to share with us of themselves. This is so with each and every one of us.

The more we struggle to manipulate how others reacts or acts towards us, the more they are going to push.

So, just let it go.

Let it go and let it exist. Let it be, it will nurture itself into exactly that which it should be. And it will, with a gentler touch and without expectation. Expectation is a form of judgement. Accept people for who and what they are, knowing that they are indeed in the exact place that they should be with what they have learned and felt up to this exact moment in time.

Relax and enjoy the lesson! Let it go and enjoy the experience! See with your eyes AND heart open. Hear with your ears AND heart open. Judge with the excitement of learning.

Food to Feed the Body, Mind & Soul

What feeds the body, nourishes the body, mind and soul.  I believe that we choose to ignore the benefits of proper nutrition in our lives, not understanding its importance.  I might believe that this is another fallout of our 'crazy busy' society.  Sadly, we are passing this along to our children. We didn't see it coming.  'It' being the bombardment of commercials and advertisements creating a fantised relationship between hamburgers, fries and our happiness, chocolate bars and pop, potato chips and many of our personal goals, such as success and happiness.

I recently saw a new documentary stating the Canadian children are getting lazier.  Kids are less active.  There is absolutely a direct correlation between what we are feeding our children and their activity levels.  We have disillusioned ourselves and then our children that a "Happy Meal" is the answer.  We choose to believe it ourselves and we accept it as the truth because it makes our lives much easier.  Immediate gratification.

A Diet is just another word. A Diet is just for fat people. Nutrition feeds the body, mind and soul. Nutrition, also called nourishment is the provision, to cells and organisms, of the materials necessary (in the form of food) to support life.  Many common health problems can be prevented or alleviated with a healthy diet.

Advertisements and Marketing...are used to create an illusion.  To take the words, "Food to Feed the Body, Mind and Soul" and create a vision in our minds, a personal relationship with whatever it is they are selling. Nourishment was never the goal. The goal was to blindside the opponent and sell the product. And sell they did, lots of it.  As our lifestyles became more full, we let our guards and we began making our choices out of convenience. Poor nourishment became a lifestyle.

The pharmaceutical companies have quickly jumped in to assist us with the affects.  The have a drug for the whole mess.  Drugs that can aide us with the dieting.  Drugs that can lift our spirits, Drugs that can give more energy.

The real answer lies in the personal awareness of the effects of food on our bodies.  How does this affect my mind? How does this effect my soul? How does this effect my body? Become aware of the effects. Instill in your mind the effects and choose intelligently.

Nutrition for a healthy body, mind and soul.  What feeds the body, fuels the mind and  strengthens the soul.

Personal Individual Journey, Unique to who I am...

When decisions are based on fear (=hurt, anger, frustration), it certainly makes for one big fat messy outcome. Even more so when when you respond to these fears re-actively   I usually step back from or remove myself altogether from these situations.  Reactive responses are counter-productive. It's all about ego and blame, coming from a place of very deep hurt, choosing then to hurt others. It's the only way for that person to feel better. Striking out. It's based on a comfort zone. How one copes. It takes a skilled person to respond to an irrational person rationally.  It requires an understanding of  the action, the emotion and the hurt.

On the flip side, I, personally, am the polar opposite. I take on too much blame, often blame that is not mine (making me an easy target, by the way). I then process it to death.  I always search for my role in any given situation.  What did I do or not do to create this?  What could I have done to change this? Why does this hurt and affect me so much?  This is also a form of ego and blame.  Perhaps sometimes things and situations just are. That is a statement AND a question. I don't know that answer.  Does it really matter how we got here? Or is the importance primarily on moving forward? Can we really move forward without understanding how we got to where we are?   I am always trying to understand the bigger picture. And seek acceptance within.
Trust and honesty (obviously) are at the forefront of my journey at present. There is such a saddness within me. I am working through it, but it is a process. I am doing the best that I can. I have always tried to see the best in others, trying to accept people for who they are and where they are personally. Trusted that all people are good deep down. As I see it at this time, this has not served me well. I do this because I know who I am and where I have come from. We each make decisions based on the knowledge and lessons that we individually and collectively have learned up to this point in time. That's all that we can do, until we make a choice to learn and to grow.

Up to any given moment in time, what is done is done and in no way can be 'undone.'  We have to decide what our choices are from this moment in time, the here and now. If we choose to learn and grow or if we choose to stay where we are. Choice should be based on achieving the best possible outcome for all involved.
Life is an extraordinary journey...choose wisely.

Lies for Personal Gain...

Lying for Personal Gain has become the staple of our society.  It has clearly become acceptable and this generation is desensitizing to it. When it comes to a lie, there are no rules and no boundaries.  Well, perhaps one rule; that being that the result must be personal gain.  The magnitude of the lie is irrelevant as is the size of the gain.  A little white lie is still a lie.  Our wolf in sheep’s clothing.

Interestingly enough, to make lying acceptable to ourselves and to friends, family, business partners, clients, etc, anyone we meet up with in our daily existence, we have disguised the lie, giving it different names.  Because, as long as we don’t call it a lie, it’s not a lie. Right?
First, we present a lie as an illusion.  An illusion is an acceptable form of lying. The bottom line is personal gain, to create this illusion, with no regard for the truth.

An illusion is a distortion of the senses, revealing how the brain normally organizes and interprets sensory stimulation. While illusions distort reality, they are generally shared by most people.  The emphasis on visual illusions occurs because vision often dominates the other senses.  Some illusions are based on general assumptions the brain makes during perception. The term illusion refers to a specific form of sensory distortion; an illusion describes a misinterpretation of a true sensation.

There is yet another word that is an acceptable form of lying that word is marketing. Marketing is a form of illusion. Marketing is so out of control.

By definition, Marketing is "the activity, set of institutions, and processes for creating, communicating, delivering, and exchanging offerings that have value for customers, clients, partners, and society at large.  It is an integrated process through which companies build strong customer relationships and create value for their customers and for themselves.  Honest, look it up. We are clearly as far away from this as we can possible be.  I do believe that we all know this, and accept it.  We are also confused by it.  We don’t know how to change it, modify it or put boundaries on it. So we let it be.

If you Accept your Belief as the Truth is it then, the Truth?

So, with all of this, I am wondering if it is then the truth or just your own personal reality? We have been inundated with books, seminars, lectures, discussions, tv shows, etc, that tell us that we only have to "believe it" or "think it" to become a truth.  My reality, or moreso common sense says that if we believe a lie to be true, it is still a lie, right?

I have told myself, envisioned, put headphones on as I slept, cut out pictures of the 'real me that I want to be, and even stood on my head, to make myself believe that I am slim and trim and healthy, and also, I admit, adundant! I think positive throughout the day and night.  So I must be, right?

Wrong.  Then, the critics would say, I am doing it wrong.  Of course! Silly me! I am not applying the correct principles.  There are more books and seminars and tv shows for this.  Still I am not.  There must be more books! Oh, and there are, hooray for society!

What the heck is going on?  The person who is slim and trim and of course, abundant, is the person selling the book, or the seminar, and the advertisers who put the show on.  Or rather the image that is created.  There is a show called "Shark Tank" and another called "Dragon's Den."  Consistently, one of the 'judges' comments that 'It's all about the money. I want money and lots of it!'  This is certainly his truth.  I watch Victoria's Secret during my commercial breaks and wonder why I, a mid-forty year old woman, don't look like that, 13-20 year old teen, in my brazier! And why doesn't she have wrinkles? That's a no brainer, but these are billion dollar industries created to create an illusion. Just for you and me! Isn't that wonderful! We are special!

Which brings me back to my original thought, if you accept something (anything) as the truth, does it then become your truth (even if that truth is a lie)? huh?

Is not the truth relative to perspective?  Which leads me to beleive that the truth is a really lie, meaning that truth and lie are synonyms.

I beleive that we are bring forward into this world expectations and limitations from past experiences.  (Which, I admit, does not make it truth, it mearly makes it my belief).  All of our individual experiences and values that make up our childhood, is what creates our own individual truth.  This is a NEVERENDING saga, a revolving, self-adjusting beleif system.

Survival for Necessity...

Survival  is the struggle to remain alive and living. In today’s society, the term Survival has taken on a whole new life; survival for necessity.  To just “get by”.  What is necessary to survive in this moment or that situation?

This 'survival' has been taken to a whole new acceptance of our reality.  If we can just make it through this situation in time, then we can move to the next stage. Right?  If we just do whatever it takes, no matter what that "whatever" is.  If deception is a part of our survival, does this, then, not make deception the foundation? If so, what does this mean to the process?  Terms such as “fake it til you make it.” “Create an illusion of...”  are not so much based on honesty, or for that matter, morality.  They are just based on an image that we want to create to move ahead, to “survive, ” to get ahead.  Is this justified? Sort of like the 'little white lie.' If it's to survive, right, it must be ok, it has to be.  If not, then, is there a limitation as to what extent is it justified?

Within Reason: The basis or motive for an action, decision, or conviction. A declaration made to explain or justify action, decision. Within the bounds of good sense or practicality.

Who decides what is justified? What boundaries have we put on this? Should these parameters naturally be based on morals and ethics or on the value of the survival?

I definitely need to think more on this....

And the Truth Shall set you free...

Truth has a variety of meanings, such as the state of being in accord with a particular fact or reality, or being in accord with the body of real things, real events or actualities.

Honesty refers to a facet of moral character and denotes positive, virtuous attributes such as integrity, truthfulness, and straightforwardness.  The quality or fact of being honest; uprightness and fairness; truthfulness, sincerity, or frankness; freedom from deceit or fraud. In English, the word originally had more to do with honour than honest.

Clearly and rightly so, according to my perspective and perception, I have a brave new clear understanding.  My thoughts are now focussed on necessity.

Perspective Vs. Perception

Perspective, by definition, is the way in which objects appear to the eye based on their spatial (of, relating to, involving, or having the nature of space) attributes; or their dimensions and the position of the eye relative to the objects; one's "point of view,"  the choice of a context for opinions, beliefs and experiences.

Perspective in theory of cognition is the choice of a context or a reference (or the result of this choice) from which to sense, categorize, measure or codify experience, cohesively forming a coherent belief, typically for comparing with another. One may further recognize a number of subtly distinctive meanings, close to those of paradigm (distinct concepts), point of view or reality tunnel (a subconscious set of mental "filters" formed from their beliefs and experiences, every individual interprets this same world differently).

To choose a perspective is to choose a value system and, unavoidably, an associated belief system.  When we look at a human perspective, it is a more social value system and its associated beliefs.

Perception is the process of attaining awareness or understanding of sensory information. Perception results when the brain processes and interprets physical signals that have activated the sensory organs.

Alice in Wonderland Syndrome (also known as Todd’s Syndrome), is a disorienting neurological condition which affects human perception.  A temporary condition, it is often associated with migraines, brain tumours, and said to be associated with the use of psychoactive drugs.

Perspective or perception is based on motivation.  Motivation is now and has always been acceptance; an acceptance based on individual uniqueness.  This is the a struggle.

I am unique.  As are you.

Personal Experience

You cannot learn from my experiences.

Although you can gather information from my experiences; you must make a choice to not pass judgment on my experiences or make a decision based on it.

You can, however, choose to take with you and learn your own experience.

That said experience is then, your own personal experience and has nothing to do with me.
