Bad things happen to good people. Good things happen to bad people. We so often say something along the lines of "He deserved that!" (good) or "He certainly got what he deserved!" (bad). The truth is that ALL things happen to ALL people. These are all just EXPERIENCES along our path to a higher knowing. Along our path of community.
It is not questioned when something great happens to us or someone that we know, although some see it as positive accountability and reward. We are congratulated and often acknowledged. I don't disagree with this, as we should be rewarded. Athough, I may change my mind on that! The problem that surfaces, is when something bad or terrible happens. We then often question ourselves, our choices, decisions and sometimes those around us. We ask ourselves how something that we see as horrible would/could happen to us or a loved one or an innocent child. How could God let these terrible things occur? This forces us in a state of judgement. We then judge the person rather than the deed itself. This is a learned behavior.
In order to see the bigger picture we perhaps need to step outside our box, our comfort zone. Simply put, we need to trust. That trust comes from a place deep within us all. It is so important to reflect, to know that we are all here together in this big universe. Everything that we do has an effect. Every thought, every deed.
Every 'Thing" happens for a reason...so it is... Sometimes that Reason is to Learn an Important Lesson... Other Times it is So that You May Teach an Important Lesson.
When something terrible (to us) happens, it is so easy to blame ourselves and/or become a victim. This is learned and modified throughout the years, reflective of our beliefs. It is important to open our-self up to the experience. Trust and acknowlegment, 'knowing' or 'remembering' who we are and what our path is. Not everything is a lesson for us to learn. Sometimes, it is a lesson for us to teach.
So the next time something, either good or bad happens to you or someone you know, slow down and look at the experience with your eyes wide open, truly see it for what it is, then find your role in the experience and act upon it with a better understanding.
We truly are all in this big ole word together! Blessings and Graditute!
