Often, one wants their reality to be something other than what it is. I am thinking about a situation that surrounds people that are fairly close to me. They each want the situation to be something other than what it is. They want the past to change so that they can change the present.Simply put, the situation continues to stay in the same state because they are choosing to stay in the past. And, it seems, that each wants the other person to change. The past cannot change, only our present state of mind. I believe that this is the only way to move forward.
The truth is that our current reality is made up of our perceived truths. It is made up of situations, events, actions and reactions based on what we have learned up to this point. Our past memories cannot change, but our perception of them can. This then, in essence creates a new reality based on new perceptions. Where we are along our journey is right where our thoughts and actions have brought us. Once we decide to change this course, we then can take action towards what we truly want to manifest in our lives. Change the thought process changes the action process which will consciously lead us in a (re) newed direction. this is when miracles take place. I believe that this begins with a search for our authentic self, a calling to our higher power.
Sometimes, it may be beneficial to accept the past as just that, and choose to move forward. Acknowledge what your current memory of it is, bless it and consciously put it to rest. If you need a visual of this, take a balloon, fill it with the memories that are causing you difficulties, blow up the balloon and set it free! Let it Go! If memories of the past come upon you, continually bless them and put them away or set them a sail. There will be a time when you are able to look back at these memories with a new perceptions, but for now, bless and place back where they belong, in the past. Always come back to the current situation, person or event and give to it your fullest attention without fear or ego. Consciously create new beginnings.
At first, this may seem like it consumes you, but it will get easier, it will begin to happen without any prompting. This is because it is conscious, a conscious state of being, living in the moment. I think back to when I consciously began the process that I am learning currently, my coach saying, "Back to the moment," always go back to the moment. Allowing past attachments to become a part of our reality is raining. This is the drama, the fear, the ego, and attachment to all. Without fear, without ego, without attachment to the past, with attachment to the outcome, I am present. How cool is that.
Just for today, I will live in the Present Moment, with no strings attached. And then I will do so again tomorrow. But I will begin with this moment.
