Messages & Miracles~ACIM~ Lesson Six

Lorilynn Koke, ACIM, SpiritwithinusI have had some amazing new experiences since I dedicated my consciousness to this re-awakening. It has been a miraculous journey in Awareness and Temperance. I Gratefully move into today. I Graciously accept responsibility for my Perception of events and cast Judgment aside.  This has allowed me to see not only myself, but others in a new light, with eyes that have been reopened. I have learned to fully understand and apply my rule of Loving Allowance, 'The Loving Allowance of all to be. In their own space and time. Beginning with Self.' This has been the same for experiences. Of course, there are still some experiences that stand before me that are more challenging than others. Still I persevere and execute my thoughts.  Life does love me. YaY me!

The word 'BUT' means nothing to me. There is no 'but' with but one exception of , 'There but for the Grace of God Go I.'  I can only teach well what I have learned well. Ha!

Today's Lesson~ Lesson Six is  'I am upset because I see something that is not there.'

When I say this exercise out loud, I begin to understand that there are times in which we want to be angry or fearful, mad or stubborn; we choose to be. In doing the exercise, it mindfully forces me to accept my responsibility; what I am seeing, what I have created. What I am seeing, keeps me stuck; in the pain, the sorrow, the guilt; the past.  Keeps me stuck in believing who I am not. So I allow myself to move forward.

The exercises with this idea are very similar to the preceding ones. It is necessary to name both the form of upset (anger, fear, worry, depression and so on) and the perceived source very specifically for any application of the idea.

I am angry at ______ because I see something that is not there.
I am worried about ______ because I see something that is not there.

Today's idea is useful for application to anything that you allow to upset you (hijack your thoughts/reality), and can profitably be used throughout the day for that purpose.

The three or four practice periods which are required should be preceded by a minute or so of mind searching, as before, and the application of the idea to each upsetting thought uncovered in the search.  I am upset because I see something that is not there.

If you find yourself resisting when applying to some upsetting thoughts more than to others, remind yourself of the two cautions stated in the previous lesson:

There are no small upsets. They are all equally disturbing to my peace of mind. 

And:

I cannot keep this form of upset and let the others go. For the purposes of these exercises, then, I will regard them all as the same.
