Lesson 1 - 'Nothing I see means anything.'
As you look slowly around the room, apply this thought, very specifically, to whatever you see. Begin with what is around you and expand this thought to broaden your awareness; around the house, in your vehicle, and then on the street.
This exercise should be done twice daily, morning & evening, for a minute or two, no longer.
'Nothing I see means anything.'
This table does not mean anything.
This chair does not mean anything.
This hand does not mean anything.
This pen does not mean anything.
That door does not mean anything.
That body does not mean anything.
That lamp does not mean anything.
That sign does not mean anything.
That shadow does not mean anything.
These statements are not arranged in any order or importance; it makes no allowance for differences in the kinds of things to which they are applied. That is the purpose of the exercise. The statement is merely applied to anything you see; use it totally indiscriminately. It's placing a new awareness in your thought process, releasing pre-attachments.
The idea of this exercise is not to become ritualistic. Be sure that nothing you see is specifically excluded. One thing is like another as far as the application of the idea is concerned.
