Messages & Miracles~ACIM~ Lesson 46

ACIM; LoriLynnKoke; spiritwithinus; miracles
Holding back Forgiveness often keeps us locked in the cycle of bitterness, hared, self-blame and/or shame.  It steals from us our freedom. Today we reach a place that unlocks an awareness that begs us to begin the process. We recognize the harm, damage and destruction that has been left in the wake of its path. This is a movement that opens our eyes fully to the understanding that Forgiveness begins within and with self. The choice is yours, to stay where we are; in the hurt, anger, fear, resentment, blame, shame or guilt, or open yourself up to the Joy, Love, and Peace that Forgiveness brings.

Forgiveness♡ truly lightens our spirit and gives us wings to fly.  Forgiveness should be practiced daily; as an awareness and understanding that to be released fully, it must be whole and complete. Its rewards are miraculous, I have seen the beauty within it. True forgiveness lay deep within our hearts, and offers, both of self and another, understanding, empathy and compassion.  It does not mean that we deny the other person's responsibility for hurting us, nor does it minimize or justify the wrong; but it does allow us to move forward, placing the judgment into the hands of God. Their actions are between them and God. Yours are between you and God.

Radical Forgiveness is about YOU.  Its purpose is to assist in releasing the chains that bind you to another; another person, circumstance or experience, and allows you to move forward into a greater peace and love.  It is based on your inner knowing that Forgiveness needs to be whole and complete to heal and move forward.

Radical Forgiveness does not require us to understand how something happened, why somebody hurt you, or to understand the circumstances fully; and it doesn’t ask you to perceive the details, it only asks you to be open to letting go, letting of the shame, the blame, guilt, resentment, fear and anger that you carry around with you.  What is required is the willingness to learn, to accept, to grow and move forward; to be open to the idea that there is growth in releasing, growth in healing. There is growth in moving forward.

A Course in Miracles ~ Lesson 46~ God is the Love in which I forgive

God is the Love in which I forgive.

Feel this. Feel the strength in which it carries. Forgiveness is the one great need of this world that can bring about an even greater change. It is made easier by the process of recognizing that the world is filled with illusions. Those who offer true forgiveness are releasing themselves from these illusions, while those who withhold forgiveness are binding themselves to another or an experience.

Fear condemns and love forgives. Forgiveness thus undoes what fear has produced, returning the mind to the awareness of God. As we learn to move towards the true meaning of forgiveness, we open ourselves up to the means by which illusions disappear. Allow yourself the time to understand that it is indeed a process that takes time to fully understand and accept in its fullest state of awareness. Do not beat yourself up if you are unable to forgive in the beginning. Begin with the small stuff; at a daily level, building up to a greater understanding.

Today we begin the process with these exercises; three five-minute practice periods are required. Shorter practice period are also recommended that can be done throughout the day.

Begin by repeating today's idea to yourself.  Close your eyes and as you do so, reflect for a minute or two searching your mind for those whom you have not forgiven. Know that if you have not forgiven someone completely, then you have not forgiven them at all. Begin one by one, and slowly. Being gentle and kind with yourself, bring forth the name of someone that you have not forgiven and say:

God is the Love in which I forgive you, [name]God is the Love that blesses me. God is the Love in which forgiveness heals.

The 2nd aspect of the technique supports the understanding that it is necessary to forgive ourselves. With this in mind, after you have applied the idea to all who have come to mind, is time to grant yourself the same allowance. Look inward and repeat:

God is the Love in which I forgive myself. God is the Love that blesses me. God is the Love in which I love myself.  God is the Love in which forgiveness heals.

Throughout the day, any circumstances that arise or times when you become aware of any kind of negative reaction to anyone, take a deep breath inward and repeat:

God is the Love in which I forgive you, [name or self]. God is the Love in which I love myself.

This exercise offers the wisdom that only God can truly forgive.  If the process is slow, that is okay; just know what is important is that the process has begun. Have a kind and gentle day♡ LoriLynn
